Our Mission Statement

Toy Drive for DC's Central Union Mission

Hearst Elementary Toy Drive 2010!

Dear Hearst Families,

This year we will be collecting toys for local children in need. The toys and/or books will go directly to children served through the Central Union Mission in downtown DC. They serve children from age 5 to 17 and have asked that we donate items for ages 5-8 and 9-11. These age groups have the highest need during the Holiday Season.

In order to ensure that we have enough for these groups we are asking that grades Pre-K – 3rd serve our highest need age group (5-8) and grades 4th and 5th donate toys for ages 9-11.All toys and /or books must be wrapped, labeled with the gender and age range of the gift (see the label attachment at the bottom of this page), and dropped off no later than Friday, December 3rd. Attached is a list of suggested gifts for the two age groups. You can choose something from the list or simply let your child pick out something they think a child their age would enjoy. This is a wonderful opportunity to talk with your child about the importance of giving, especially during the holiday season.

If you have any questions please email Ms. Prince at BPrince7@msn.com. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you in advance for helping to make wonderful holiday memories for local kids in need.
