Weekly Update November 15, 2013

writing2.pngWow! What a busy week it has been. Despite the short week, we’ve accomplished a lot! Our 1st graders showed off their Writer’s Workshop skills at Wednesday’s PTA meeting. There is nothing better than hearing a 6 year old say, “I love writing!” We had another successful Open House on Thursday, with about 30 parents wondering what all of the Hearst hubbub is about. Thanks to our wonderful PTA for supporting such a successful event!

 Johnnie_Drew.jpgNew Staff Highlight

Johnnie Drew is one of Hearst’s new Super Para Professionals. She actually has a background in teaching math at the middle school level. After teaching for a bit, she decided she really wanted to pursue a career as a massage therapist. She still wanted to work with kids, so she thought being an instructional aide while she goes to therapy school made perfect sense! We certainly all agree with her!
