It was through Catholic that Miss Monaghan was introduced to Phoebe Hearst Elementary. In the fall of 2012, Miss Monaghan was lucky enough to be placed in Ms. Janna Walker’s second grade classroom to fulfill her student teaching requirement. After this semester, she knew that Hearst was the place for her!
When Miss Monaghan is not finding books for her classroom library or planning lessons, she enjoys many other activities as well. Before Miss Monaghan decided to pursue education, she was a musical theatre major. During these days you could find her singing, dancing, and acting. Miss Monaghan even sang the National Anthem as a soloist at Fenway Park for her favorite team, the Boston Red Sox.
Miss Monaghan also thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family during the summer, exercising, reading, and eating ice cream! For the past six years, Miss Monaghan was a waitress on Cape Cod at “Chapin’s Fish& Chips”. Although Boston is home, Miss Monaghan has loved living in the nation’s capital for the past four years, and is excited for the years to come!
Miss Monaghan could not be more excited to join the Hearst Elementary community. It is going to be a fantastic year not only in third grade, but for the entire Hearst Owl family!
