Weekly Update November 22nd

Happy-Thanksgiving-Turkey.pngIs winter upon us? It certainly feels that way! This week has been busy for everyone here at Hearst. We kicked off the week in 5th grade with the Invention Convention, where our 5th graders showed their entrepreneurial spirit! Ms Dawkins’ PK students began creating their Alphabet Books, which will demonstrate their understanding of letter and letter sound recognition. At the staff level, our Early Childhood Teachers (PK-1st) attended the NAEYC conference held in Washington, DC. We are excited to see what they bring back to enhance their classrooms.

Sarah Schiers is only “newish” to Hearst. Ms Schiers worked as a Kindergarten Aide at Hearst for many years while she completed her teaching certification at George Mason University (Go Patriots!). We are thrilled to have had a place for Ms Schiers. She has developed her natural talents in the classroom and has transitioned to lead teacher with ease. She is also proving to be a teacher leader, bringing wonderful ideas for the classroom to all of the staff at Hearst!

Thanks PTA! Fpr sending our ECE teachers to the NAEYC Conference!
