Capitol Language Services (CLS) is Hearst's on-site before- and after-school care provider for SY 26-27. CLS operates daily from early morning through 6:00 PM.
Registration is now open. The deadline to enroll and start services on the first day of school is July 15, 2026.

Need-based financial aid for before- and aftercare is jointly provided by CLS and the Hearst PTA. All families interested in financial aid support for SY 26-27 — including families who received support last year — must submit a new confidential application directly with CLS.
Application deadline: July 15, 2026
Decisions will be communicated by August 15, 2026. Applications received after July 15 will be considered on a rolling basis; CLS will do their best to start late-applying families after Labor Day.

CommuniKids offers 3-day and 5-day per week Spanish immersion aftercare programs. CommuniKids is based at Cathedral Commons — staff walk students over from Hearst after the school day ends.

The DPR Afternoon Access program is based at the Hearst Recreation Center (3950 37th St NW), near the playground. It offers students a variety of well-regarded programming. Space is limited.
